Welcome to Girlfriends Connected!
Life is a journey with many victories and challenges. We make available friendship, encouragement and support for women of all ages and in all seasons of life. We offer women several avenues of connection, including:
Blankets & Bibles - Saturday November 16, 2013
Our blanket-making party will begin at 11:00 a.m. this year. We will be giving a polar fleece tie blanket and an age-appropriate Bible or Christmas story book to foster children, pediatric cancer patients at Mott Children’s Hospital (U of M), teens at Vista Maria and the Lincoln Center as well as to other children with difficult life circumstances. You can choose to bring your own material (2 yards of a printed fleece material and 2 yards of a solid polar fleece) or help with the material that will be there (please bring a pair of sharp scissors). Lunch will be provided. To make a donation or be assigned a child’s name, go to the Women’s Ministries kiosk in the mallway or call Cindy Bonnici at (734) 560-3808.

Malachi: A Love That Never Lets Go By Lisa Harper (Monday Night)
God won’t walk away, even on our worst day. God won’t leave us. Explore God’s unchanging love in Malachi, Lisa Harper’s first video – driven Bible Study. No matter how often we mess up, God loves His broken people. Come and watch Lisa teach and then discuss the homework that you have completed during the week with other women around a table.
One in a Million: Journey to Your Promised Land By Priscilla Shirer (Monday Night)
Every week millions of believers fill the pews of the church and hear about the greatness and power of God. They are told that they can experience it, yet few ever do. If you hunger to experience His power, hear His voice, and live in the abundance promised to you, then this study is for you. You will do homework during the week that you will discuss with other women around a table as well as listen and watch a DVD of Priscilla as she teaches each session.
Forgotten God: Reversing the Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit By Francis Chan (Monday Night)
It doesn’t make sense that Almighty God would have children characterized by fear and insecurity. He put His Spirit in us so we could be known for our power. Sadly, most believers and churches are known for talent or intellect rather than supernatural power. Could it be that we’ve forgotten the One who distinguishes us from every religion and cult in the world? Through solid scriptural support and compelling narrative, breakthrough author Francis Chan returns us to the Holy Spirit as the Bible describes Him. Please come and join us for this life changing study. There will be a short DVD segment followed by an in depth discussion of the homework each session. Completing the homework is essential for getting the most from this study.
Unglued: Making Wise Choices in the Midst of Raw Emotions By Lysa Terkeurst (Monday Night and Tuesday Morning)
In her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will equip you to know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships and how to find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended. She will help you to identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication. You will learn how to respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff or explode and gain a deep sense of calm by learning how to respond to situations out of your control.
Parables & Word Pictures By Cheri Cowell (Thursday Morning)
Part of the Following God Through the Bible series, this 13-week study will help the reader develop an ear for the message the parables of the New Testament convey - that the Kingdom of God is at hand and is in you and me. We are the keepers of the kingdom, and as subjects of this nation we must live in such a way as to please the King. The parables tell us how to live as Kingdom people.
Dust off those knitting needles/crochet hooks and join our Prayer Shawl Ministry. The talent you have can be turned into a blessing for those who receive our shawls. No matter what your level, we will welcome you and help you create a beautiful shawl for someone in need. Meetings are the first and third Wednesday of every month from 10:00AM-12:00PM in the 200 rooms. Please contact Linda Osgood at email@example.com or (734) 487-4543.
